York Sling Library provides expert support to enable local parents to carry their children in comfortable, safe slings or carriers. The Library is run entirely by volunteers, many of whom are trained baby-wearing consultants or baby-wearing peer supporters.
In light of the Coronavirus/Covid-19 pandemic we have decided to do our bit to avoid spreading the virus by only doing online consultations from today 14/03/2020.
Those who have slings out at the moment can either keep hold of them, or if you are finished with them, you can return them in a sealed, named, plastic bag. If you are exposed to or contract Covid 19, then please wait a safe period after everyone in your family’s symptoms have ended, and return the sling washed and dried.
We will make a box available for returns in the Knavesmire CC foyer on the morning of Monday 16th March, beyond this slings can be returned (or collected) by prior arrangement from our other drop box location – please contact us for the address!
Our lovely volunteers will be answering your questions on Facebook (the qualified volunteers, as opposed to helpful community members, will identify themselves as such) and we can also arrange free online individual consultations and Facebook lives. If you’ve got any questions about this please ask!
Finally, if you are feeling isolated and just want a chat or could use any local practical help, please don’t hesitate to get in touch we’d love to hear from you.
Best wishes, your YSL team
